You Wander at Night

Karen Vande Bossche

wind shivers
I sense
your breath stir
stroke my left
bare arm
pause, resting
on top of winter
weight blankets

my fingers rise
and close
smoothly
over your hand
a thousand miles
gone

in morning
light
that suggestion
of you
surrounds me
as I stand
solitary under
falling water
